Saturday 7th August saw a very success day held at the Centre, it was our Health and Harmony Day.

People came from near and far to enjoy what we had on offer.... the weather was just fantastic (although a cool start the day), it was great to catch up with people you see at church and never really get to enjoy their company fully.  The cake stall sold out.... and we thank the efforts of Lorraine, Carmen and Corinn for making such yummy goodies.

The Committee would like to thank all our volunteers, readers, healers, aura photo (Helen, Alan & Dennis) and carboot holders for making the day a great one. And of course, the people who came to visit.

There will be another one in November so stay tuned.....  love and blessings from the Salisbury Centre.

This article has been written by one of our members, ministers or visitors.

This was my very first address at my very first Church Service as a Minister.

I was on the internet and came across a passage on unconditional love.  In it was a quote from the bible.

Again we quote that great Spiritual teacher Lord Jesus, who said: "But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you. If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' love those who love them." (Luke 6:27-32).

I felt this scripture hit the nail on the head for me with regards to understanding what unconditional love was all about.

Later that day, I was in a confrontational situation with a colleague.  The situation left me bitter and degraded.  I started to think about the scripture and what it meant for me in this situation.

Unconditional love, how can I love someone who has just belittled me in front of other peers.   A voice in my head said – “you can, you just can’t love the situation”.

I read through the scripture again and thought, how can I, as a human do this, love so unconditionally, love the people who hurt us so. I felt it was near impossible.

So many times, we think that something is impossible, but really nothing is impossible – it just takes awareness and perseverance.  It is ok to muck up every now and then (we are not perfect – yet), we are human after all, making our way to spiritual enlightenment through learning and growth from the experiences we have.

This scripture is the ultimate state of unconditional love. As long as we are aware of this level of unconditional love, we can begin to understand, learn, incorporate and strive to obtain this state of unconditional love.

The most important thing to remember is …. To be aware and so I am.
